Overview

Hooray Coffee, tucked into 5 E Citrus Ave #103 in Redlands, California, is a vibrant spot that captures the essence of community-driven coffee culture. This cozy coffee shop, once the site of Gerrard’s Market, has been transformed into a welcoming retreat for locals and visitors alike, boasting an inviting atmosphere that balances simplicity with character.

The highlight here is undoubtedly their latte, which has garnered high praise for its richness and balance. Coffee lovers like Lisa Lindley find it “one of the best plain lattes” around, and the cortado is equally commendable—crafted with care and precision. The baristas demonstrate a clear mastery of espresso and pour-over techniques, catering to those who appreciate coffee beyond the ordinary. Whether you stop in for a quick cortado or linger over a slow pour-over, the drinks speak for themselves.

Beyond the coffee, Hooray offers a carefully curated menu with snacks and fresh wraps that complement your beverage choice. For example, the turkey wrap stands out as a fresh, well-balanced option—perfect fuel after a morning run or a day spent exploring Redlands. The availability of matcha and inventive beverages like the summer “Kiss and Tell” (hibiscus tea with mint syrup and lemonade) expands the appeal to a broader audience, from traditional coffee aficionados to those craving something lighter or more adventurous.

The shop’s interior is a quiet celebration of delicate, natural artistry. Walls adorned with captivating mounted insect specimens lend an intriguing, almost museum-like vibe that sparks curiosity without overshadowing the experience. Adjacent boutiques offer baby and adult clothing, greeting cards, and unique home gifts such as Geometry tea towels—an environment that feels thoughtfully tailored to those with an eye for craft and detail.

Seating options inside and out provide a calm, sunlit space to unwind. The outdoor metal chairs soak up the California sun, a minor caveat for summer visitors, but otherwise, the space feels fresh and inviting. Accessibility is enhanced by a generous, free parking lot—an appreciated convenience in Redlands.

Staff at Hooray Coffee balance efficiency with warmth, handling crowds and the midday rush with a calm professionalism that keeps the vibe friendly and relaxed. Customer experiences echo a sense of community, with the owner and regulars creating a welcoming environment that turns casual visitors into returning friends. For travelers passing through or locals seeking a new favorite spot, Hooray offers not just coffee, but a genuine connection to the town’s rhythm.

In sum, Hooray Coffee is a refined yet approachable coffee shop that excels in quality, atmosphere, and community spirit. It’s a place where the coffee tastes crafted and the experience feels curated for those who appreciate both flavor and friendship.

Thankful for this little shop. We came here after the Redlands Turkey Trot 2025 We came as a family of 7 after the race and each had a different coffee, or matcha. A former barista was among us and was impressed with the flavors. We also had snacks and treats. My turkey wrap was superb and fresh, the flavors were well combined and balanced. The prices were average for a coffee shop and service went well even with a line of 10 people behind us. The staff were very pleasant under stress. It's at the northwest corner of the building (it used to be Gerrard's market). Clean, fresh, well lit and fully stocked with: Custom mugs, handmade cakes, bags, 'tinned fish', soda bar, and Milkis (when you know, you know), and a clean bathroom. Parking lot is free and has a generous amount of space. Indoor / outdoor seating was nice on this beautiful day. The metal chairs outside COULD get hot in summer, be careful. Enjoy! I'll be back again.

We got the summer "kiss and tell" with hibiscus tea, mint syrup, and lemonade and a mocha with oat milk. Delicious. I'm picky about my mochas not being sweet, but also earthy and I like tasting the espresso in there. I wonder if the owner is also an entamologist because there were fascinating bug specimens showcased on the walls. Adjacent are baby and adult clothing shop, greeting cards, and perfect home gifts, like Geometry tea towels (my favorite). Wish we were local, we'd be back sooner than later.

Im a coffee lover, and this place is phenomenal. It has a simple small menu, but one of the best plain lattes I've had. The cortado is great as well. If you want coffee that tastes better than the coffee at most roasters, then come here. Plus the place is full of beautifully mounted insect wall art.

I came by about a half hour before close and they were very welcoming. I ordered a cortado and they had it out in less than two minutes! Delicious drinks and friendly service. They have a bench and a few seats inside along with some snacks and coffee beans. Will definitely come again if/when I'm in the area.

Hooray was the best coffee experience for me in Redlands. Thanks to Nick and his regulars, I felt like a part of the community, even though I was just passing by this town on my way to Joshua Tree. I've tried espresso and pour-over here and both are beautifully executed. Nick knows coffee and the coffee knows Nick. Will be back here when I get back here.

I can’t tell you how delighted I was to find out that hooray coffee has a brick and mortar location that is more than just a small coffee cart inside of Kith in downtown Redlands. They’re across town from me but well worth the drive their coffee is excellent and while I only drink hot oat milk lattes they have lots of fun offerings and seasonal drinks. They also have food. I tried the chicken, bacon wrap, fantastic. They sourced pastries from all the local bakeries including Deaux, which has some great savory-sweet combos. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The location is welcoming with plenty of seating inside and out and plenty of parking. I highly recommend you take a trip to E. Citrus Ave. and Dearborn in Redlands and try them out

I was introduced to this by my roommate VO, and it is a gem! I got to grab a decaf latte 16 oz and, a few hours later, a chicken and bacon wrap. The portions are generous, and the whole ambiance is bright. In the thick of studying for exams, we found this cafe to be a refuge. There is a few tables inside closer to the back of the cafe that is more hidden away and conducive to focus well near individual outlets for each table. I was very pleased with the immediate, kind service as well. The bathrooms are kept generally clean. Outdoor seating are also readily available to enjoy a nice day!!
